Art: "The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power."
Art is subjective... Observers either get it or they don't. Nike's Tinker Hatfield is a legend, and these early sketches of his infamous Air Jordan XI silhouette is a prime example of what I would consider art.
As much as I enjoy the tangible products in the market, it's the process that makes my wheels turn. Early sketches and renderings in the footwear world are intriguing to me because it's always interesting when compared to the actual products. What if the tooling wasn't as refined as the final release pair? What if the collar height wasn't slightly lowered? Imagination sets you free.
