Sneaker Cake Madness!
There aren't too many great sneaker-themed cakes out there. I've searched the internet for some good cake examples, but finding well-executed pieces are really hard to come by. That's probably because they're incredibly tough to pull off! I'm no chef or baker by any means, but apparently they're difficult to shape and mold without using large amounts of stuffing.
Here are two amazing pieces done by Alice Leal and Eileen Gaetos from Anchorage, AK. They decided to mix things up a big by re-creating the infamous black/red Air Jordan XI, alongside it's Concord brother's shoe box. These cakes were for Kelly, KP, and Edwin (Alice's husband) who all coincidentally had their birthdays on the same day. I apologize for the low quality cell phone pics, but we were at the birthday party and the cakes were a big surprise in the end! I took a ton of pics, so be sure to check out all the details including all the meticulous stitching, red outsole grooves, patent leather finish, etc.
See the picture above? To those who thought it was stuffed with other things...Both were all cake inside! Down below is an actual comparison shot with the size 10, along with the two creators! Shoot them a follow in instagram to see more amazing work! >>> egaetos & _ae_love <<<
