I've been blessed with the opportunity to see and hold a lot of rare shoes in person. You can say that this has helped fuel my fire to track down more and more crazy shoes. The following pair is no exception.
Back in 2006, I was able to see these stupid rare LeBron AZG sz9 Samples shown above at the SoleCollector Finale held in LasVegas. They were displayed on the table of Ballintwn (see more heat on instagram: Ballintwn). The display consisted of 30 shoes hard-to-find shoes, but these Christmas AZG Samples stirred up quite the commotion amongst the LeBron sneaker community. I was fortunate enough to snap a quick picture of them while they were up on display.
King James wore these lasered beauties on December 25, 2003 against the Orlando Magic. The white leather upper was accented with a red liner for some added pop. Unlike any other AZG, these didn't have an actual stitched Swoosh...They created a Swoosh by using negative space during the lasering process on the side panels. More lasering can be found around the toe and on the tongue as well.
You want a pair of these? Good luck. The rumor is that there are only a handful of pairs floating around all over the world (think less than 10).
